Instinct

Posted in Uncategorized on August 7th, 2010 by Pawan Pandey

Was thinking over this word from quite long, but was busy with album so did not got enough time to collect whatever I have and write, got some time again so putting my thoughts here. Please try to remain awake …

Well as you can find that word “Instinct” can be defined as “Inborn behavior”, means a behavioral pattern hardcoded genetically into DNA’s. Being a Bio student I will definitely agree with it and guess most of us also. Not sure how many of you will agree that we are aggressive or defensive, active or slow, sharp or dull, shy or extrovert, cleaver, intelligent or dumb by birth, but I do. Definitely education plays a very vital role in everyone’s life and most of the times our education system molds us in such a way that we can do well to our society and leave a good life. But our instinct remains with us and keeps on popping up from time to time.

Corporates have a defined culture and those who are in have to follow certain guidelines for their behavior, but still the instinct remains with us helps or hinders in our growth on corporate ladder. In general I will categories corporate employees in 3 broad categories, first are those lives a corporate life 24/7, second who remain on mask from 9-6 and you will find a different person all together in them after office hours and third are those who remain what they are 24/7. The best will be a correct mix of mask and instinct. This is the reason why there are only few keep on growing while other remains on more or less same place through out their career. Nowadays we will hardly find anyone belongs to category three but they still exist and I will say, “God bless them”. To those belong to first category I will say, “Dude! Your kids are too young to understand the complicated language you are using with them”.

The younger generation which is on the way to join the workforce, its important for them to remain calm and keep looking around, explore new things use it and if it is not useful then just move on. Its time of rapid change and quick move, human will soon become a mechanical unit at work; no one is going to tolerate you if your negative instincts keep on popping up.

Cricket

Was watching India and Australia match (T20 world cup cricket) on Friday night, heard a lot about Indian cricket team in past few years, though never got a chance to watch their match in recent years. I lost all my interest in cricket a long way back (10-12 years). My friends told me that now they have improved a lot and doing great in cricket, but what I saw confirms my thoughts again that they haven’t changed, bowlers were bowling poorly and batsmen given up one after another, this is same way of batting they were doing 12 years back, nothing is changed, very same mindset and give up approach.

I never understood the fundamental behind focusing on “taking wickets” rather than “saving run” in T20 format. What is the need to put efforts to take wickets when one is innings is only of 20 overs. In my opinion bowling wicket to wicket and not giving batsman room to play shot will be best strategy here. I am not an expert of cricket but if “saving run” approach is used, batsman will throw it wickets in frustration.

I am not sure if anyone will implement it, but thought to share and wishing my voice will reach to those for which it was meant.

We have started playing cricket on weekends, it’s know as YPL (Yishun Premier League) :D , it doesn’t matter that we are 18 in emails but only 8 are coming to ground on any weekend. Today was my second day, played for 3 hrs. from 7 to 10 of morning, feeling too tired. Every of body which has got muscle is paining.

This condition is knows as “Muscle Fatigue”. The little I have remembered from my studies is that muscle fatigue occurs when our muscles works more than normal, this situation leads to lack of supply of oxygen to muscle, due to this the glucose in body gets converted into Lactic Acid rather than burning completely and gets accumulated in between muscles. Being acidic in nature lactic acid irritates muscles resulting in pain. The process of burning glucose without oxygen and converting into lactic acid is known as Anaerobic Oxidation. In general we do Aerobic Oxidation where glucose get burned completely and release energy . Anaerobic oxidation releases energy faster than aerobic though.

It gets cured by it self with time, as whenever body gets oxygen, it removes lactic acid by processing it. To speed up this process what the best we can do is to do a warm oil massage or warm water bath.

Got few off line messages from Gudiya asking why I am not blogging from some times, she has also asked if all is well. Well, “All izz well”, I was just busy with work related activities, so did not have enough time to write anything. Really sorry to those unknown readers who came and returned back without anything.

Watched my first T20 match yesterday, it was India vs. Afghanistan. Good to see Afghans manage to put a respectable total on score board. My best wishes for their good future.

I have tested myself to limit in past one month, learned many things new and strongly willing to implement those soon. A lot has been changed in terms of technologies in past few years, and change was even quicker in last one years. Fortunately, I am not far behind and catching up will be fast. During this process of testing, I missed the fun part, will regain it also and soon ;) .

Yes! I still remember that I owe you details of my Malacca trip, will log it in a day or two ;)

Take care

Apologies

Posted in Uncategorized on February 6th, 2010 by Pawan Pandey

Apologies for not logging over last weekend, there was nothing special to log, :( but past was an eventful week.

To start with, went to watch movie Avatar second time, it was in 3-D this time. This was second time in my life when I watched a movie two times in cinema hall, first was Independence Day. It was little better experience than 2-D, unfortunately I have selected back row and screen was far away, anyways enjoyed second time also. Did some experiments with the 3-D glass and realized that both of glasses of pair are different in color and when I removed the glass every thing went blurred. I never noticed this in my childhood when I was reading 3-D comic books :P .

Aashis’ birthday was the main event, it was on 2nd of Feb and which was Tuesday. Thankfully everyone invited was present. I was on leave and taking care of arranging things, while Anshu was holding another important end cooking. Menu was “Mater-Paneer”, “Dam-Aaluoo”, “Chooley”, “Pualo”, “Pudina-Raita” and “Kachorian”… and what a excellent food it was… superb… I loved all of them especially “Pudina-Raita”. There were 6 families in total and 7 kids… Its up to you to imagine a house with 7 kids… and all very naughty :D

Could not take photographs, was busy arranging things :(

Bottle Tree meeting

Posted in Uncategorized on January 25th, 2010 by Pawan Pandey

Bottle Tree is a good place for live sea food lovers, unfortunately for us (especially me) this was not the place, I am here in Yishun (near Khatib MRT) from more than 2 years and almost daily watching the place, but never thought to visit it, may be because it is too near to my place.

It turns out a nice place to chill-out in evening. In our case the purpose was to discuss about our imminent trips in Asia Pacific region. There are many places still to visit, so far we only have confirmation of Bali trip.

  • The agenda of the meeting was to explore possibility of Kota Kinabalu or KL and Genting as well as to finalize our trip to Desaru.
  • Parties took part in the meeting were Rishi, Sunil and me with families.
  • Outcome of “The Meeting” was that Rishi will proceed ahead with finalizing plan to Desaru, Sunil will study and sketch the plan of KL and Genting, while I have explore possible options for Kota Kinabalu trip. Sequences of these trips are as following -
  1. Desaru coming weekend or next depends on comfort of a couple of other families (Rajeev and Dileep). Sunil is not coming in this trip :( .
  2. Kota Kinabalu during 3 day off of Good Friday.
  3. KL and Genting will be a weekend trip, any weekend but at least in a gap of 2 weeks other 3 trips (3 rd one is our Bali trip, unfortunately only me and Sunil are going to this).

Here are few photographs of Bottle Tree Park-

Marina Barrage

This is addition of one more name in my list of outings… view from the marina barrage was breathtaking, so as the wind…  it was blowing too hard for my “Cheap” tripod :D , it was shivering like I use to shiver after taking bath in winters. I am definitely not going to buy a good and heavy tripod; it was just a rarest occasion and will not be often.

We must need to have a zero vibration of tripod while shooting for long exposure, what I consider as long is anything greater than 1/125 sec, most of us can take a hand held clean shot with 1/125 sec, though in my case the exposure was for 10-30 seconds… at one point of time my camera demanded more than 30 seconds and this was the time when packed it to my way back home.
